The Dakota County Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for 2 full-time Deputy County Attorneys. This is a busy, four-attorney office with a variety of responsibilities, including felony, misdemeanor, infraction, and juvenile petition prosecution; representing the State’s interest in mental health proceedings; performing coroner duties; representing the County in Tax Equalization and Review Cases; representing the County Board of Commissioners; advising law enforcement and county officials on legal issues; and other duties as defined by Nebraska statutes. Duties include covering assigned on-call periods to answer after-hours legal questions from law enforcement and handle coroner matters. Salary is negotiable and based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefit package included.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice law in the jurisdiction;

The Madison County Attorney’s Office is currently accepting applications for a full time position for Deputy County Attorney. Applicants must be licensed to practice law in the State of Nebraska. Civil Litigation Attorney: Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA)

Unique opportunity available for an experienced civil litigation attorney to grow their legal career in a collegial and collaborative environment focused on representing Nebraska counties in civil matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in serving local government, the ability to build rapport with county officials throughout Nebraska, and should enjoy working in a small firm team setting. This role is a match for a candidate with an interest or expertise in federal civil rights employment, tort, and handling civil matters that impact the public. This posting is for a full-time position, although candidates with an interest in part-time employment may also apply.

Qualifications
Juris Doctor and admission to practice or ability to become admitted to practice law in the State of Nebraska, the Federal District Court for the District of Nebraska, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals are required. Three (3) or more years of litigation experience is required. Strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to professionally and effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and strong attention to detail are essential.

Candidates with ten (10) or more years of experience practicing law are preferred. Litigation and trial experience in any of the practice areas described above is preferred.

NIRMA partners with trusted law firms to provide the highest quality legal representation for its members when claims must be litigated. The successful candidate would join one of these firms, dedicated to handling litigation matters assigned by NIRMA and representing its county members. The employment arrangement will be with a PSLF-qualifying nonprofit public benefit corporation that serves as third-party administrator to NIRMA and was designated as one of Lincoln’s 2025 “Best Places to Work.”
